Growing up in Athlone, a suburb in the Cape Flats, Ebrahim started doing graffiti and community empowerment work through art. This led him to his first documentary “Overspray” an iconic South African graffiti film, which won a gold award for best documentary 2001 at the Stone Awards, this was part of the Encounters Film Lab. Wanting to be a film maker Ebrahim went to film school to study make-up and special effects; due to financial constraints, he plucked eyebrows and never lost track of his goal, to be a fulltime cinematographer/director of photography.
Today Ebrahim has filmed for numerous international and local clients, and is known amongst top production houses. He has a real street edge to his film style and loves pushing boundaries. His passion resides in documentaries, features and music videos. He is an artist that’s hard to categorize and brings an offbeat edge to his projects.
